ANIME DVD AND BLURAY AREA BLOCKED OFF AND BROWSING DISCOURAGED. I will no longer consider shopping at this store or even the Main Place Mall when looking for anime merchandise. I liked the Anime Monster store specifically because they had a large disc selection which is absent from most other anime merch centered stores. When I asked why and if they are going to no longer sell discs I was told they would continue to sell discs but they would grab whatever I had in mind for me (I did not have anything specific I was looking for at the time) and when looking for discs they said "our loyal customers usually know what they want." This type of sales tactic for me is obvious, obnoxious, and exploitive. I encourage anyone looking to shop for anime discs in-store to go to nearby BOOK OFF store in Costa Mesa.

I went to this store because I heard they have a lot of Gundam model kits. I saw they had shelves completely full of kits- great! When I asked to see them, they literally told me I would not be able to look at them. I was told that due to staffing issues, I wouldn’t be able to browse their selection of kits. They just shoved Funko pops in my face and basically told me I wouldn’t be able to look at any Gundam kits. I really do not understand why they would require additional staff for me to just look at their products. There were several staff members just standing around. They had everything blocked off, and it seems like they were more focused on loss prevention than helping paying customers. Why would you have an entire section of your store and make it completely inaccessible to customers? They told me to come back in 4 hours. No thanks. Never coming back here again, wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.

It is disappointing to see prices continually increasing in this place(I was left confused when I saw the same product somewhere $100 Then from a month ago $60).also very frustrating when it comes to collectibles that u don't see in other stores but the prices seem to be inflated beyond their original value. It is a pity that such a practice discourages potential customers from visiting this place🫠

They have a really nice selection of Gunpla from old to new but some of these are 50% the regular prices and I’m willing to come back here only when desperate for an old kit. The lines are especially long and there weren’t that many people in the store.

They were quite kind in helping me look for what I needed but the only negative thing about the place is that they watch you so much, it is understandable that they do it to avoid stealing but it is quite uncomfortable.

Just go to Tokyo Lifestyle of you really want to buy something anime related. They let you bring food, groups of people, and staff is awesome. Recommend that instead of this.
